EXPERIENCED Industrial Paint Sprayer

Location: Tameside

Job Type: Permanent

Hours : 6:00am - 2:00pm, 7am - 3pm or 8am - 4pm

Salary: £16.00 - £19.00 per hour

The rate is £16.00 per hour for candidates with relevant experience who may require some initial support or training. A rate of £19.00 per hour is available for highly experienced candidates who can confidently undertake the complete role independently and demonstrate an extensive knowledge of industrial glass cutting. The applicable rate will be confirmed in advance following an assessment of experience and capability.

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Industrial Paint Sprayer to join an established engineering and metal-finishing company based in Dukinfield.

This is a hands-on position involving the preparation and application of industrial protective coatings to a variety of fabricated metal products, including pipes, structural steelwork, tanks, fabricated assemblies and bespoke engineering components.

The successful candidate will be confident working within a busy industrial environment and committed to delivering a high-quality finish while maintaining excellent standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing steel and fabricated metal components before painting

  • Operating airless and air-assisted airless spray equipment

  • Using conventional spray equipment when required

  • Mixing and applying industrial primers, 2K paint systems, protective coatings and topcoats

  • Applying coatings to pipes, tanks, structural steelwork and fabricated engineering components

  • Following paint specifications and technical instructions

  • Measuring and recording wet and dry film thicknesses

  • Inspecting finished work and ensuring the required quality standards are achieved

  • Identifying and correcting defects or areas requiring additional preparation

  • Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment and paint-shop facilities

  • Keeping the working area clean, safe and organised

  • Following all Health & Safety, environmental and quality procedures

  • Working efficiently to meet production schedules and customer deadlines

  • Supporting colleagues and the wider production team when required

Skills & Experience

  • Have previous experience working as an Industrial Paint Sprayer

  • Have experience applying industrial and protective coatings to metal products

  • Be confident using airless or air-assisted airless spray systems

  • Have experience working with primers, topcoats, 2K paints and multi-coat systems

  • Understand the importance of correct surface preparation

  • Be able to follow paint specifications and technical instructions

  • Have good attention to detail and take pride in the quality of their work

  • Understand industrial quality-control and inspection requirements

  • Have strong Health & Safety awareness

  • Be reliable, hardworking and punctual

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Coating-inspection experience

  • Wet and dry film thickness testing

  • Experience working to ISO 9001 quality standards

  • Experience within engineering, fabrication, metal finishing or protective coatings
