Start: 8:30am–9:00am
Finish: 4:30pm–5:00pm

Salary: £35,000

About the Role

Pickles Recruitment is looking for an experienced Accounts Coordinator to join an established and growing food manufacturing business in the Stockport area.

This is a hands-on, standalone accounts position where you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, keeping everything running accurately and efficiently while working alongside external finance and FD support.

We're looking for someone who knows their way around the numbers, is comfortable taking ownership and enjoys being an important part of a smaller, close-knit business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices using Sage 50

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Credit control and debtor management

  • Preparing and processing supplier payments

  • Weekly payroll

  • Managing pension auto-enrolment

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns

  • Processing foreign currency transactions

  • Producing regular financial information and reports for management

  • General bookkeeping and finance administration

  • Liaising with external accountants and finance/FD support

  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and procedures

Skills & Experience

  • Strong bookkeeping and transactional finance experience

  • AAT qualification or equivalent, although candidates qualified by experience are equally welcome

  • Sage 50 experience or experience with a similar accounting package

  • Experience of payroll and VAT return preparation

  • Good knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Confidence working independently and taking ownership of the accounts function

  • A proactive, practical approach to problem solving

  • A positive and collaborative attitude

Previous experience within manufacturing or food manufacturing would be advantageous but isn't essential.
